Matthau Partners Up to Bring Elmore Leonard Book to the Screen

Myriad Pictures and Matthau Media are producing the bigscreen adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s comedy crime thriller “Freaky Deaky,” which Myriad is introducing to foreign buyers at the Toronto Film Festival. Charles Matthau, son of the late Walter Matthau, also will direct the pic. Matthau and Myriad topper Kirk D’Amico are producing with Michael Meltzer and Judd Rubin. “Freaky Deaky” chronicles the exploits of two former lovers who are extreme radicals with a talent for bomb making. After several years and prison terms apart, they reunite to steal millions from an accomplice they are convinced framed them. But they draw the attention of police and a bomb squad, especially one cop with bomb training of his own.
