Star Comic Writer’s Latest Work Going Cinematic

Twentieth Century Fox has acquired the rights to “Kick-Ass” creator Mark Millar’s latest creator-owned title, “Nemesis.” Tony Scott is attached to direct under the Scott Free production banner, but a screenwriter to handle the adaptation hasn’t been hired yet. Story centers on Matt Anderson, a billionaire genius who can be described as the anti-Bruce Wayne/Batman. Millar imagined a similar origin (i.e., a billionaire’s son, separated forcibly from his parents), but with a completely different background and outcome. Anderson dedicates his life to crime, not as a costumed vigilante, but as a costumed criminal (he hunts detectives for sport), before turning his attention to Blake Morrow, the detective he considers responsible for his father’s death.
