The BBC has announced that hundreds of jobs and dozens of services are to be axed or cut back in the BBC World Service and BBC Monitoring as a result of government funding cuts.
The NUJ believes the cuts represent a brutal attack on valued and vital national, European and international services. They will mean seriously undermine the BBC World Service as the leading voice of Britain abroad with a global audience of 241 million people on radio, television and online.
