Artist's statement : This is part of a series of photographic work on ecology by Scottish artist, Linda Lieberman. The images have recently been described by a critic as ‘visceral’ and ‘demanding’, which suggests the urgency about their subject matter; the oceans and seas, which face an unpredictable future. The images combine the sinuous and sensual lines of the human body with creatures from the sea. Each is a beautiful example of the dichotomy between the natural world and mankind’s devastating effect on it.
